Drexel Summer Program Jobs
Here at Drexel University, the college of Engineering is looking for 1 - 2 people to help with a summer program which tries to excite high school age students about engineering.
Dates: June 19th - August 11th
Hours: 8am - 4PM M-F
Pay: $10/hour

Women in Engineering Program
Exploring Engineering at the University of Maryland (E2@UMD) is a two-week residential
summer program (July 9-15, 2006 Session One and July 16-22, 2006 Session Two) for 60 high
school women in each session interested in math, science, or engineering. E2@UMD seeks to:
increase students’ knowledge of the various engineering fields offered at the University of
Maryland; encourage students to pursue engineering as a course of study in college; and expose
them to female role models in engineering.
Job one:
Two camp counselors live with E2@UMD participants and enforce the rules and policies of the
program in the classroom and in the residence hall. The camp counselors coordinate all of the
social activities at night and help students with their final project. The camp counselors are
expected to attend E2@UMD program activities and provide information and referral to
participants who want to know more about engineering. The camp counselors work
collaboratively with the entire E2@UMD staff and the Women in Engineering staff.
All interested applicants must complete the application form and submit a resume with their
application by April 7, 2006.

Job two:
The teaching assistant is responsible for students’ overall conduct in the classroom. The teaching
assistant greets faculty and guest lecturers; helps presenters organize the materials for their
presentations; leads students to their activities; facilitates discussion in the classroom; documents
session experiences through reading participant journals and taking photographs; and promotes
active participation and teamwork. The teaching assistant is expected to attend E2@UMD
program activities and provide information and referral to participants who want to know more
about engineering. The teaching assistant works collaboratively with the entire E2@UMD staff
and the Women in Engineering staff.

BIOMEDICAL ENGINEER Wyle Laboratories
BIOMEDICAL ENGINEER Wyle Laboratories - Houston, TX WBHAC-0603-RI The principal purpose of this position is to provide core competency engineering support for ongoing neuroscience studies being conducted for projects within the Human Adaptation and Countermeasures Office. This position will require frequent travel to remote bed rest facilities. The Neurosciences Laboratory is a component of the Human Adaptation and Countermeasures Office, which implements the scientific objectives of the life sciences research laboratories at the Johnson Space Center.Independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications. Assignments have clear and specified objectives. Receive instructions on specific assignments objectives, complex features, and possible solutions. Assistance is furnished on unusual problems and work is reviewed for application of sound professional judgment.
This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, or a closely allied field plus 0-2 years of experience; or equivalent experience. The incumbent should be skilled in the design, testing, evaluation, and integration of biomechanical instrumentation intended for use with human subjects. Experience with biomedical instrumentation and measurements, real-time data acquisition systems, and signal processing is also needed. The incumbent must have a sufficiently advanced knowledge of human physiology to understand biomedical experiments designed to characterize the human response to space flight and the development of appropriate countermeasures. This position requires U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status.PC skills in Microsoft office products are required. The incumbent must have advanced computer skills including the ability to develop data acquisition and analysis software for specific laboratory applications. Previous experience with Matlab and/or C programming is desired. The incumbent is expected to participate as a member of a research team working closely with principal investigators, support scientists, and other engineers. Summer Venture in Management
Havard Business School Summer Venture in Management P rogram 2006The Summer Venture in Management Program (SVMP) is a week of HBS instruction that exposes high-potential college students in the summer between their junior and senior year to the HBS MBA experience and the variety of opportunities a degree in management can afford. Participants from diverse backgrounds spend the week on campus living the MBA student experience - attending classes, analyzing case studies, and debating management issues with peers and faculty.
This unique educational experience, in combination with a summer internship at a sponsoring company or organization, gives participants a broader understanding of the challenges business leaders face, the innumerable opportunities that exist in management, and the impact they can have on their community and the world through leadership.
The application for the 2006 Summer Venture in Management Program is now available online. In order to attend, a completed application is due May 15, 2006 at 5:00pm EST (Boston time). The program will take place from June 24-30, 2006.
Consistent with the objective of promoting educational diversity and opportunity in business leadership, criter ia considered among others, are whether the applicant is:
a) the first family member to attend college;
b) a member of a group that is currently underrepresented in business schools and corporate America (e.g. African-American, Latino, Native Americ an, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, or Transgender);
c) from a family with little business education or experience;
d) from a school whose graduates do not typically attend a top-tier, urban university (e.g., attends a rural or predominantly minority college, or has attended a community college as part of a four-year degree).

Google Scholarship Program
Introducing the Google Scholarship Program Google is pleased to announce anew scholarship program created through a partnership with the Hispanic College Fund. The Google Scholarship Program offers $5,000 to students studying computer science or computer engineering who are juniors or seniorsin college or pursuing a Master's or PhD.
Eligibility Requirements:

* Must be studying full-time in the United States or Puerto Rico
* Must have a minimum GPA of a 3.5
