Monster's Diversity Leadership Program

Dear Students,

The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, Inc. (SHPE) AHETEMS Officeis working with Monster's Diversity Leadership Program on this opportunityfor students who are U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or have an F-1student visa.Although the application deadline is MAY 19, 2006, you are stronglyencouraged to apply and register, ASAP, as spaces are limited.Opportunities exist at this program to win engineering scholarships!! Monsters™ Diversity Leadership Programs provide an opportunity for the nation's top engineering students to get a head start on initiating theircareer of choice. Each program is a unique chance for incoming collegesophomores, juniors and seniors of diverse background to spend a weekendlearning practical skills and interacting with individuals fromindustry-leading companies like Lockheed Martin, PricewaterhouseCoopers,Shell and Accenture in a fun and dynamic environment. These high-energy events are jam-packed with presentations and activitiesprovided by some of the nation's most inspiring speakers andorganizations. Participants spend a summer weekend, in one of 10 host cities (Atlanta,Baltimore, Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, LA, New York, Philadelphia, SanFrancisco, Tampa), with 300 other student-leaders exploring areas likeresume-building, career development, workplace diversity and networking.Attending students leave with access to an invaluable network ofprofessional contacts and mentors, new friends and fresh ideas about their place in the a real world. 98% of students would recommend this program to a friend.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
You must be an incoming second-year (Sophomore status), third-year (Juniorstatus) or fourth-year (Senior status) college student. This is defined bythe year of college you will be entering for the fall term of 2006.

You must be between 18-24 years old. Although all students will be considered, we recommend that applicants maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale (or possess a GPA of 3.5 or higher in their chosen major). We also seekstudents who have outstanding extracurricular involvement, volunteerismand successful work experience.

You must be a U.S. citizen, a permanent resident of the U.S, or have anF-1 student visa. We cannot accept non-U.S. residents, or individuals withH-1 or J-1 Visas.Intend to enroll in, or be currently enrolled in an accredited four-yearcollege or university during the Fall term of 2006. We will also acceptany student who is pursuing an associate degree if he/she has already beenaccepted as a transfer student to an accredited-four year college oruniversity for Fall 2006.
